About New Zealand
General Information
Similar in size to Great Britain, New Zealand has a population of only 4 million, making it one of the least crowded countries in the world.
New Zealand Cities
The North Island is the smaller of the two New Zealand islands, boasting two of the country’s more prominent cities: Auckland in the north; and Wellington, the nation’s capital, in the south.

The South Island is an area of picture postcard beauty with a past steeped in history. You can enjoy a diverse range of activities all year round, whether your passion is for skiing on some of the best slopes in the world, experiencing their colourful culture, or simply relaxing with a glass of wine in a world-class vineyard.
Attractions
New Zealand’s awe-inspiring landscapes, and amazing flora and fauna, along with its temperate climate, make it a haven for the outdoor enthusiast. New Zealand culture is diverse, sophisticated, and multicultural, with something for everyone.
Weather
A temperate climate with relatively small seasonal variation makes New Zealand an ideal year-round destination. The north of New Zealand is subtropical and the south temperate. The Summer months are December, January and February, and the Winter months are June, July and August.
